I'm taking George Pfromm's Advanced 2D animation class to improve my portfolio. Here is the first weeks assignment. we had to use video reference to rough out some animations. I actually took all three and combined them into one motion.
Getting up off the floor, sitting in a chair and then a 'sneaky' walk. hope you like :)

So I was surfing the vast internet blogs and came across the sketchbook project.
You can see more about it HERE
Basically you are sent a sketchbook that has 80 pages. You must fill it with sketches of your selected theme by a certain deadline. And send it back to them, in which it'll then be on display. :)

Okay I saw Avatar in 3D and it was really good! Reminded me of Pocahantas/ Ferngully. But more with more imagination. Really good.
I decided to re-vamp my Demoreel. Added some things I worked on at Fablevision and other things I've been workign on recently :) And a new song. Dunno if it works well, but I wanted to try something different.

And also. The mini doodle I posted Below. I tried my hand at action scripting it. (With A LOT of help from my BF and online forums lol)

I saw New moon.. and I guess I should start off with out right saying, I never read the books, and never was very keen on the main actress... So when I saw the trailor for the second movie, I was actually exited to see some action and fighting going on... Let's just say I was disappointed and move on to better news.

I was coloring all the frames for the vertical animation for Mel,. When I just kinda lost it. I took a break and figured I'd go the easy route and do puppet animation. with limited animation.

So here is a small step towards it. I would LIKE to make this an iPod/Touch game. I have a storyline all thought out and everything.

The princess and the Frog and another animation

I saw The princess and the Frog opening night and I must say it was beautiful. They didn't seem to skimp out on anything, so i was very proud of Disney for that. their first 2d film in 5 years... eek so awesome. Not it's the countdown to Rapunzel in 3D next year. At least I have "How to train you dragon" To look forward to in march :)

Still working on the flash game... starting to color and it;s taking forever @__@ Here is the colored version of Mel running. ENJOY! :)

Okay. So for a couple of months now I've been having a craving to watch the Anastasia movie. IT was one of the animated films that I really loved. I thought it was really great work for a non-Disney film! So Today I was surfing the vast internets and came across an article about the Fox Studio that created Anastasia and Titan A.E which I ALSO loved. I guess I'm WAY behind the times. Because in 2000 Fox Shut Down the studio! I always wondered why they never came out with any more animated film... and that's the reason. Not only that. But it turns out after it was closed.... they migrated to... BLUE SKY STUDIOS (which was just a special effects/ commercial studio) And that's when Ice Age was made. I need to take a "history of animation' class or something (if there was such a thing here) cause all this is really interesting to me!

24 Hour comic Day

Okay. So the date for the 24 hour comic days has been set to October 3rd!!
If you dunno, 24 Hours comic day is a day that you dedicate to drawing a 24 page comic in 24 hours. seems simple right? ;P
I actually took part in this two years ago at my local comic book place, "comicopia". It was A LOT of fun, you get to meet cool people and geek out about comics. Eat snacks and get high off of sharpie fumes lol (not on purpose of course)

Okay. This picture is the character in my very short animation, I'm working on over at Fable Vision in my Spare time.

I hope to have it done soon. Maybe even add music and sound FX later too.

Still working on my zombie game.. which, yes, I still call "Zombie Game."I've tried thinking of a title for it and It still comes up as "Zombie Game" lol

I have a good hunk of the main character's animation done. Maybe I'll post up some GIF's of the action sometime. After hat I just have to animate the Zombies, and the first level boss. And then on to the Cut-Scenes.

I wish i could have done more animation, but I'm pretty proud of the Backgrounds. :) Of course an art piece can never be truly done.

Star Trek 2009 and Ether Saga

On tuesday they had a free screening of Star Trek at the AMC theater in Boston. I got the screening HERE. The screenings actually "sold out" or ran out of seats within a half hour. Luckily I'm guessing they moved the screening to a larger theater and reopened the screening.

I Must say. I was never really a Star Trek fan. I knew most of the inside jokes from seeing 'trekkies" on TV and tid bits from when my grandma watched it when I was a little-un. But even if I never even HEARD of Star Trek. I would have loved this movie.

Besides the main actor, Chris Pine Being.. incredibly atractive. I didn't once think "why did they pick THIS actor/actress?"

Although before I saw it, when I found out that Zachary Quinto was playing Spock, I kinda giggled. I just imagined Sylar. But he did such an awesome job! And according to the sneak peak 'interview' with Simon Pegg Quinto apparently did push ups or some other work-out things before every take?

ANYWAYS, GO WATCH IT CAUSE it's AWESOME!!!!

In other news. I downloaded "Ether Saga" form Perfect World. It's a MMORG game. It's really interestign though. Very Stylized. I really like this kind of game. It's not realisticly detailed like WOW or the other Perfect world games. It's more like Ragnarok online and Flyff (Fly for fun) I've only just started playign it last night. But I'm up to level 14!

I never really got into WOW, but I can see how people get REALLY into it by playign this game. I stayed up till 2am doing quests.

And that's all I have to review for now :)

Flash game and Swine Flu

It's been a while Hasn't it?

Well I've started interning at Jawbreaker Interactive (who brought out the leet street boys game.)I'm Working on a Flash side scroller game. I'm really excited about =)

Here's two character designs I'm working on. There's two more.

(If you click on them you get a better pictre, I think I shrunk them wierdly)

The first Character, Mel will be the only playable character for the DEMO. Then hopefully it'll get far enough that I can have all four characters playable, and maybe even all at once for four player fun :) We'll haveta see if people like the Demo enough though.

In other News. What's up with this Swine flu!? So scarey! I head that they've foudn one case in BU and in Harvard Medical? there's only 6 Known cases in MASS right NOW. but just two days ago there was only TWO known cases.

Disney/Pixar's UP

I went to a screening of Disney's UP yesterday at the Boston Common theater.
From the preview I assumed a typical grumpy old man meets fat and happy boy. But I was certainly wrong.
This Movie really surprised me with the love and lost factor. The characters didn't lift off the ground until 20-25 minutes after the movie had started. Maybe even a half an hour after the movie started.
The little kid was extremely funny and cute. And it made things even better when one of the characters had my name. spelled the same too :)
The characters where really stylized in a short stubby way, which was incredibly cute. There weren't that many main characters in this movie but I didn't miss more at all.
All in all, this was a really cute, sad, romantic, FUNNY movie that I will happily see in 3D when it comes out.

How to Animate Bloo from foster's

I was going through Coldhardflash.com and I came across the post about foster's home for imaginary friends finally ending.
Which is sad. I really liked that show... BUT Craig McCracken left behind a PDF tutorial on how to Animate Bloo. LINK
I'll miss fosters but I still like total drama island and now Stoked. I really like the people who make those series's. (FreshTV)
So I'm looking forward to it.
Another hting that I love about the creators of TDI is their blog they talk to the fans and post awesome stuff like turnarounds and.. it's just so cool to look at.

went to the Gamer's Conference in CA. And the Nintendo people gave everyone a copy of Rhythm Heaven.

Reggie didn't have a DS and I DO! And now I have the game. It's not set to come out for a couple of days but it's really an awesome game. So much fun.

If you like fun music games, or even Brainage and big brain academy, I really suggest this game.

The Pixar Touch

This is a book that my teacher had us read for class.
I wasn't too happy that it was required. But It's actually a really good book to read.
Pixar has their own history book, but this one is much more "juicy"
You can kinda get the DIST of whats in this book by watching the behind the scenes in the movie "Walle•e"

Just thought I'd share this. It's a pretty interesting read.

First Blog

I decided to Make a Blog.

I guess this should be pretty Professional and what-not.

Which I guess is Fine.

I'll start this off with the 3D animated movies I've recently seen.

1. CORALINE

This was my first 3D Movie I saw. (Besides Shark Boy and Lava girl... don't ask)

I wish I saw Beowolf, but I never got to. Anyway.

I was really excited to see this movie. I loved the deisgns and the style. It made the whoel movie pop even more with the cool 3D glasses on.

The story was simple and neat. There wasn't anything unneccessary like a thrown in romance at the very end for no reason. It was just simple and clean and I like that.

Not only was the story simple and clean, butthe character design was too. The were really realistic and nice looking. I would die to have one of the models for my own.

It was just an amazing movie and I loved it.

2. BOLT

I actually wanted to see this in theaters for the LONGEST time. unfortunately I never made it. FORTUNATELY my friend Lauren's aunt is a producer and she gets screenign DVD's so I did end up being bale to see it!

Of course my favorite character in the movie was the hampster. HE was just so fat and fluffy. I'm SUCH a sucker for fat animals.

When they were goign into the cat's background I expected somethign like Jesse's from Toy Story 2. A really sad part. But it wasn't! It was tothe point and realistic. No need to bring tears to the eye, though you KNOW they could have. It surprised me actually. Especially because that sort of thing happens ALOT. Even more so with our horrible economy.

I saw on the news around christmas time that peopel would drop thier pets off at animal clinics and pounds. Some people would just leave them outside and not even go into the clinic, and SOME people have left thier cats in thier home and left.

I really liked this movie too. I though that the voice actress of the girl, "Hannah Montanna" would be annoying. but it was a pleasant surprise that she wasn't.
